Some bling!

Audrey's first piece of jewelry arrived in the mail today -- her medical bracelet. A friend of mine, whose daughter also has a severe dairy allergy, referred me to this site that has the cutest medical tags/bracelets/temporary tattoos, etc. for little ones. After we recently found out the extreme severity of Audrey's dairy/casein allergy, I ordered her a bracelet right away. As you can tell, she's liking it.

Cleaning the house this afternoon (really, I was), I went in to check on Audrey and found her like this. Love her!

Almost 2

How can my daughter almost be 2 years old??! I will never forget her birthday, the day she was born. Mostly I will never forget how BIG she was, but I will always remember meeting her that day and the moment they laid her on my chest and looking at her for the first time. She likes it when I tell her this story :)

Give it up for Audrey!

This week is Food Allergy Awareness week. 3-5 million children have food allergies, and as many of you know, Audrey is one of them (dairy). I encourage you to join us this week in bringing awareness to this issue and 'giving up' a favorite food as part of the campaign (and beyond). Toddler and Me

It's really weird watching Audrey's swimming lessons at a pool that both Dan and I had lessons in when we were kids. Audrey really enjoys her Toddler and Me swim class. I am hoping that she will grow up to enjoy swimming as much as I have -- she's built for it, that's for sure!

Update

Many of you already know about our obsession w/ working out and lifting heavy things. Dan and I were recently given the opportunity to help out at our gym. Dan got his CrossFit certification a few weekends back and has already begun some training, and we're both providing nutrition assistance with regards to paleo/zone diets. Basically, on top of everything else we already do, we work at a gym now. We're really excited about our newest venture! www.crossfithillsboro.com

Easter 2010

A very happy Easter, indeed! No candies for Miss Audrey, but she did enjoy some sugar cookies (minus the dairy ingredients of course, sub soy products). They actually turned out pretty good. We spent the day opening her Easter basket, reading with Daddy, coloring, going to church with Gramma Flood and Aunt Mary, and a nice brunch afterwards. A long nap ensued thereafter. Audrey felt the organ during church service was "too loud". Other than that, she had a very enjoyable day :)

Sorry I've been neglecting my dear family blog! No excuses really... just busy chasing a toddler around, working on my photo biz, avoiding laundry, working out 5x a week, and going to the grocery store at least 2x a week (if not more). BUT, we're all happy and healthy and that's all that matters. Here's some photos of the little wild child (check out my photo blog for other photos, too!) Thanks for being patient with me :)

Audrey is a smart kid. She recognizes every letter from alphabet, counts to 12, enjoys 'typing' on the computer, loves books, Sesame Street, singing, her dollies and is THRILLED with her grandmas and papas visit her. Current dislikes include: the vacuum (still), turning off the record player (we're old school like that), car washes, and live ladybugs/insects, and getting yogurt on her newest cabbage patch baby as we witnessed this evening... very upsetting, indeed! Her 2nd birthday is just around the corner... how did this happen? We hope that you are all doing well and are enjoying the beginnings of Spring.
