Father's Day Weekend

Below are some photos from Father's Day weekend at Cannon Beach, Audrey's first Beach Trip:

Audrey's Baptism

Soon after Audrey was born, Dan's grandma Audrey and her husband Bruce came out to visit from Alexandria, Minnesota. Since they were in town, we felt it was important to have them be a part of Audrey's baptism. We appreciate them coming out to visit, along with Sara Gray, Eric Hensley and Jordan Thierry -- THANK YOU!

Blog Update

Julie's Web Journal is now the Flood Family blog -- that way Dan can post updates as he pleases. It's going to be a hot weekend, and we're beating the heat by staying in the bedroom with the AC unit now installed. Audrey is as happy as a clam now that she is cool. Tomorrow we're heading out to NE for our birthing class picnic where we will get to see our fellow classmates now with their babies!

She's here!

After much anticipation, Audrey has finally arrived. We had originally gone into the hospital on May 12th for an induction due to my risks for preeclampsia (which eventually subsided). After 9 hours that day on pitocin, the labor wasn't really kicking in and Dan and I did not want the doctor to break the bag of waters, so we went home still pregnant and frusterated.

About 2 weeks later, on May 23rd at 11:05 pm, my water broke! Labor was 11 hours long, with 3 hours of pushing. Audrey popped her head out at 10:12 AM, and the rest of her came out at 10:14 AM. Her extra 12 days in the womb was needed in order for her to weigh in at 11 lbs and 6 oz!

We've been home now for just over a week and Dan and I are adjusting to our new lives as parents. Audrey has been a very good baby -- she is nursing well and sleeps amazingly! We have to wake her up at night for feedings. She is quite the content little baby and only gets upset really when she's in the nude and when she has a tummy-ache. Other than that, she sleeps and sleeps and sleeps! She very much enjoys visits from her grandparents, and was very happy to meet her cousin, Vivian.
